IT selection advice
ERP selection and advisory, from requirements to go-live
Choosing an ERP is a business decision, not a software demo. We help you set the requirements, compare realistic options and decide with a business case, then plan the route to go-live.
ERP advisory
What our ERP selection advice covers
We start with how your business actually runs: purchasing, stock, sales, invoicing and projects, and where they hurt. From that we draw a short list of requirements on which ERP packages really differ, instead of a long list every vendor ticks.
With those requirements we build a shortlist, run demos on your own scenarios and put the costs side by side: licences, implementation, support and the customisation you will probably ask for. You get a reasoned recommendation with a business case and the risks, not a report that ends up in a drawer.
You make the decision. We explain why each option fits or falls away, so you can take it to your board or investors with confidence.
Approach
From ERP selection to go-live
01
Processes and goals
We record how things work today with the people who run them and with management, and define what the new ERP has to deliver.
02
Requirements and fit-to-standard
A limited set of requirements that tell packages apart. We test every exception: if it is not essential, it becomes customisation you pay for later.
03
Shortlist and comparison
From longlist to shortlist, demos on your scenarios, reference calls and a cost breakdown that counts the same items for every option.
04
Decision, integration and implementation plan
A recommendation with business case and risks, covering the links to your existing systems, and an implementation plan with phases, roles and a timeline to go-live.
Duration and effort depend on the number of processes, locations and users. After a free intake call, you receive a fixed quote with a planning from us.
Platforms
The platforms we work with
We are an advisor and an implementation partner. For ERP we work with Uniconta, for warehouse management with BizBloqs, and for CRM and business workflows with Zoho. We implement only these three ourselves, and we supply licences for them. We tell you that at the start so you know where our interest lies.
If none of our platforms suits your operation, we will say so and tell you which kind of system does. Read more about Uniconta, BizBloqs and Zoho.
Who it is for
Who we do this for
Growing businesses in logistics, wholesale and business services that have outgrown separate tools and have no in-house IT team to run a selection project. The decision sits with management or the board.
Looking for wider advice on ERP, WMS and CRM? See our IT selection advice. If you choose one of our platforms, we can carry out the IT implementation . You are not tied to that.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between ERP advisory and ERP implementation?
ERP advisory is about the choice: requirements, shortlist, costs and decision. ERP implementation is configuring the chosen system and taking it live. You can buy both from Operion, but the advice stands on its own.
Will Operion decide which ERP we buy?
No. You decide. We map the options and explain why each fits or falls away. Because we supply licences for our own platforms, we say so at the start.
Could we keep our current system?
Sometimes that is the best result, so we always ask whether a better setup of the current system would do, or whether you really need a new ERP.
An ERP decision you can defend
